Farm-Style Yoga Retreat

Labor Day Weekend 2024: 8/30 - 9/2

Please email retreats@lauriesasser.com to discuss this adventure :)

This retreat takes place outside of Seattle, in the San Juan Islands, at Saturn Return ~ a farm-style boutique inn, situated on 42 wild and beautiful acres just outside the town of Friday Harbor. There are miles of trails, gardens, and natural beauty to explore! This site is our canvas to paint on — a campus where our whole community can gather, practice yoga and harvest abundance. The farm is filled with flowers, vegetables, and eggs, and hosts produce, mushrooms, meats, and cheeses from our farmer friends. Wild-caught fish and shellfish can be found 5 minutes down the road. We will enjoy locally roasted coffee and herbal teas. Colorful natural wines, ports, and spirits from our friends at Cin Cin Goods in Friday Harbor.

Gentle Slow Flow Yoga

My style of yoga is rooted in embodiment and honors the nervous system experience. We will be exploring natural times of transition; sunrise, sunset, seasonal change, life change and learning the art of deep listening. We will be nurturing our natural doorways to meditation and embracing the stillness that comes with these practices.

Beginners welcome!

Getting Around

You can access Roche Harbor or Friday Harbor by WA State Ferry (reservations highly recommended!), Seaplane, or Land Plane. Once you're here, there are many taxi companies, bike rentals, e-bike rentals, and car rentals. Saturn Return Farm is a 13 minute drive from the Friday Harbor ferry and 8 min drive from Roche Harbor, where you can land by Sea Plane.

Accommodation

The Inn features several cozy rooms and spaces, full of fresh flowers and furnished with love. Add the island’s ample sunshine and healing ocean air, and it’s easy to get your best rest. Room options and camping options are below.

Harvest Season

For those of you who have practiced with me in the past, you know that I often talk about honoring the seasons on and off the mat. I chose this weekend out on the islands because it is the peak of Harvest season here in the Pacific Northwest! This retreat is a beautiful opportunity to dig deep in your relationship to inner work. With twice daily gentle slow flow, we learn to tend the energetic soil of our lives. In between classes, we can literally get our hands dirty in the soil! We will be tending, tilling, honoring the solar and lunar cycles of the year.

Meals (Included)

Meal time at the farm is a daily expression of the islands’ seasonal bounty. The retreat rates include ample, unrushed breakfast, coffee, and tea, lunch and dinner along with an array of self-serve snacks and provisions. Dining will take place among the living room, sunroom, dining room, outdoor chairs and shady tables, or of course 42 acres with grasses, meadows, forest — sit down anywhere and get inspired.

Activities

In addition to the set retreat itinerary, (please email retreats@lauriesasser.com for itinerary), the farm is minutes away from amazing trail-runs, hikes, kayaking and paddle-boarding. There are many opportunities to meet other guests, join Emma and Wiley for a session in the garden to plant and harvest flowers and vegetables or learn about regenerative agriculture. There are also wonderful restaurants on the island in the event you want to venture into town for dinner.
