MISSION

In the summer of 2020, $5 Yoga In The Park began as a community offering in partnership with local cities and parks. Here in the PNW, we have such beautiful outdoor spaces! Yoga in the Park's goal is to provide truly accessible and inclusive yoga and meditation classes. Since 2020, we have created a thriving community and a unique space to meet other like-minded wellness individuals. Yoga In the Park will always be only $5 and all Veterans practice for free.

TESTIMONIALS

"I was going through a very stressful time in my life thinking I need something to easy my anxiety and racing thoughts, while I always wanted to try Yoga I have never done before. A friend of mine found yoga at the park and we both decided to try. It was the best decision ever because it really gave me an opportunity to take care of myself, learn how to improve my health overall by being more grounded and breathing techniques, also learnt how to pay close attention to my body and thoughts, including over thinking. No matter what I don't miss yoga with Laurie, as I told her, even her voice is Yoga voice! She is the very best instructor and human, and is so knowledgeable. I am so happy and thrilled I found Yoga at the Park with Laurie."

"I just wanted to say thank you for leading such an inclusive yoga in the park. I am the bigger lady that struggles, and I always feel included and surrounded by kindness. I appreciate you showing me how to modify stretches to work better with my body. I was always intimidated to do yoga because I thought I had to be fit, your class doesn't make me feel that way at all. Thank you for a lovely class. I'll be back!"

MEET LAURIE

This will be my 6th year offering the $5 Yoga In The Park Community! My classes feel like a warm embrace, a weighted blanket, a deep exhale in these energetically volatile times. When we access these deeper states of peace within our nervous system, we experience the opportunity for clarity and expansion. We can look in the mirror and see exactly what needs to shift. We experience slow flow vinyasa infused with energetic work within the chakras, the seasons, and the elements of our direct environment. My hope is that we learn the tools to allow gentle movement to nourish and calibrate our lives.

I teach Slow Flow Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Meditation and Kundalini. These are gentle classes, aimed at inner exploration. In recent years, I've created yoga classes that address my own experience with autoimmune disease. I also help clients that have autoimmune disorders such as Hashimotos, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Diabetes, Lupus, Muscular Sclerosis, among others. Achieving deep rest and peace in the nervous system is the first step to healing. I offer tools to take back to our day to day lives and begin the recovery process. I lead clients to reclaim the body as a safe haven, as source of strength, a homecoming. Nervous system awareness is not an intellectual concept, it is something we practice and a skill we have to cultivate. Healing doesn't happen to us, it requires our participation.

I am so very excited to launch Edmonds, WA $5 Yoga In The Park! Thank you for your interest.
